Posting

Eric wailed me for not posting. He is in town for Ron Choi's wedding. Ron and April were married yesterday. It was a nice day and wedding with good friends. I wish the Choi's the best.

Fahrenheit 9/11

I went and saw Fahrenheit 9/11. Nothing new there that I hadn't read before, but it is a good movie.

There are many op/ed pieces in papers. Michael Moore is one of a few that make op/eds profitably in a visual medium. Visual representation of things seems to be the only way for mainstream society to "get" an issue these days. Television news reporters should be taken to task for this. They should at least once a day for 15 minutes or so actually have an opinion on something. They should examine what it is they spew rather than just constantly spewing.

Our society is run by advertising. Advertising dictates that no one can have an opinion on something if they offend people the advertisers are trying to advertise to. This needs to change.

Kid Rock

I just watched Kid Rock on David Letterman's show. Kid Rock is the new John Cougar Mellencamp. He took the torch for writing jukebox songs that mention as many states and cities in one song as possible.

Presidents

I'm watching the "farewell to President Reagan" on the news while I read. I remember the day he got elected I was on the 7th grade field trip to Yosemite National Park. Waiting in line to call home, the kid in front of me yelled out "Reagan won!!" ... I I thought that kid was a real bonehead. Reagan still gives me the creeps.

One thought that I had while watching the procession to the Capitol was ... I wonder what Carter, Clinton, and Bush are thinking ... I would imagine it is pretty odd seeing on TV what your funeral is going to look like one day.
