Haller,
I was just talking about you the other day and figured I should check out your blog and say hello. Sorry to hear the rainstorms have been so intense down there. We also have been dealing with a series of never ending storms. But I guess the silver lining to that cloud is that there has been a drought here for some time.
I saw your brother down in LA a few weeks ago. He seemed to be doing alright outside of the fact that his roommate moved out. But that guy seemed like a jerk anyway.

Wall Street has taken notice of the potential growth in the industry. The stock of Corrections Corp. has climbed to $53.77 from $42.50, an increase of about 27 percent, since February when President Bush proposed adding to spending on immigrant detention.

While the companies would not comment on profit margins from their
immigration business, Wall Street analysts said that detention centers
produce profit margins of more than 20 percent.

That compares with margins in the mid-teens for traditional prison management, they
said, because prisoners are provided with more costly services like
high school degree programs and recreational activities.

While I’m not as cynical as the previous poster, I agree the mark has gotten larger. I further agree that at nearly any asset level, you’re a target.

The tough part is for guys who have had one wealth creation event of some modicum, but haven’t been able to translate that into continued or sustainable success. Case in point anyone who’s made 20-50, what then? You’re not in any economic environmnt that allows freedom, rather burdened as mentioned in the article.

and i would further assert that BILLIONAIRE
is the new ‘low tide line’ of what i would term WEALTHY.

$500M+ means you ARE a player..but at that level
you are MORE trapped by your assets than LIBERATED by them..

speaking from personal experience..

PROBLEMS BEGIN AT SEVEN FIGURE INCOME.

and if you are languishing BELOW that half-billion mark..your fortune is simply
a ‘targeted asset pool’..that will be portioned out to your BETTERS unless you PLAY BY THEIR RULES.

from what little I know about economics ( a growing interest of mine) It seems that there may be a certain amount of manipulation happening to justify and gather support for an “Amero” currency and the FTAA via an almost xenophobic propaganda. it would be the only way for us to compete with the “evil euro” which threatens our prosperity and freedom:)
