why is the voice of america news service taking over google news? it seems like it has tailored its service to rank its articles highest. i guess the only reason that this is a troubling question to me is that voice of america is an american propaganda agency, and i am pretty sure that they are forbidden from disseminating information domestically. therefore it looks, on a preliminary and cursory observation of a guy sitting at his computer on a sunday afternoon, as though i am now reading, domestically, quite a bit of official propaganda as a result of propagandists exploiting google’s ranking system. i wonder how many people clicking on these stories are aware of the fact that they are reading a state-sponsored media outlet. and just why is it that the v.o.a. is posting articles on the michael jackson case? crap my thinking is a little disjointed today.
